Carly McLachlan

Dr Carly McLachlan is Senior Lecturer in Energy and Climate Change and the Director of Tyndall Manchester - an interdisciplinary team working on policy relevant research on energy and climate change at the University of Manchester.

She is the PI of the Community Energy Finance project and a Co-I of the Rapid Acceleration of Car Emissions Reductions (RACER) project.

Carly's research focuses on the engagement of stakeholders, including publics in the transition to a low carbon system. She is particularly interested in: how the desirability and feasibility of energy transitions and elements with them are contested by different stakeholders; the development of regional and city level energy planning; new models for local and community energy; accelerating emissions reduction trajectories, and the design and evaluation of consultation and engagement processes.
