Marcela Tarazona

Dr Tarazona is a Principal Consultant at Oxford Policy Management (OPM), where she is the Director of the Energy and Economic Growth Applied Research Program (funded by UK Aid) and leads the Climate Finance work of Action on Climate Today.

Her technical expertise includes disaster risk management, climate change, climate and disaster risk finance and insurance, energy, and monitoring and evaluation.

She has more than 15 years of experience bringing together work with international donors (World Bank, Inter American Development Bank, DFID), academia (Toulouse School of Economics, Georgetown University, Universidad de Los Andes), and providing policy advice (OPM).

She has published in academic journals, and is a co-author of the book ‘Contribution to Change: An Approach to Evaluating the Role of Intervention in Disaster Recovery’. She has contributed to the World Development Report, the Global Assessment Report, the World Disasters Report, and the IPCC Report.
