UK Energy System Change Workshop: disruption and continuity

8:45 AM - 12:45 PM, 16 March 2018
Institution of Mechanical Engineers, One Birdcage Walk, SW1H 9JJ, United Kingdom

The UK Energy Resarch Centre invites energy researchers, policy-makers and stakeholders to participate in a workshop to examine the range of disruption and continuity-based changes facing the UK energy system.

Recent results from a two-round survey of over 130 UK-based researchers, policy-makers and stakeholders reveal a divergence of views on the likelihood and desirability of disruptive or continuity-based changes across a whole range of energy systems issues. Information from the survey enables us to better understand the major points of agreement and disagreement on key issues, including technological innovation, governance and ownership, the role of citizens and consumers, policy priorities and research agendas.

The aim of the workshop is to assess the issues that emerge from the survey, and their implications for UK energy strategy and policy.

The workshop will take place at One Birdcage Walk in London, just a 5 minute walk from Westminster or St James’s Park stations.

Tea and coffee will be served from 8.45am, and the workshop will end at 12.30pm.  Lunch will be provided.
