Energy Efficient Buildings and the Role of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, 16 January 2018
Energy Institute , Hugh Aston Building, De Montfort University, Leicester ,LE1 9BH, United Kingdom
The Energy Institute and ASHRAE invite you to join them for a free event to hear how Building Information Modelling can help to narrow the 'performance gap' between predictions of building energy use and the reality in practice.
Dr Painter works at the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development at De Montfort University and is a Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellow.
Alex Mitchell is the Principal Sustainability and Thermal Modelling Engineer at Pick Everard, which is a building design consultancy.
The speakers will explain how building designers use computer models to predict energy use, the typical sources of inaccuracy of some of these models and how BIM can help to remedy these.
