Green Cities: Building tomorrow's sustainable cities

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, 3 December 2019
King's Think Tank Society , K3.11 King's Building Strand Campus London , WC2R 2LS, United Kingdom

Join the King's Think Tank's Energy and Environment Policy Centre and King’s College Sustainability for our first panel discussion of the year on the future of Green cities! The event will explore the various ways Green Cities may help tackle a broad range of issues from mental and physical health problems to climate change. We will look at the adverse effects of ‘Grey cities’ such as London today, some exciting new projects to change the face of cities around the world and the crucial role of urban landscapes in adapting to climate change.

This is an opportunity for our audience to challenge the way that they habitually conceptualise cities in light of pressing environmental crises, notably climate change. Our diverse panel of experts will be able to give insight on how student mobilisation can help redefine the conventional shape of cities. Additionally, the event will look at the various mechanism at play when thinking about green cities and the practical difficulties in implementing greener, environmentally friendly spaces worldwide.
