Heat games workshop & Heat seekers quest

12:30 PM - 8:00 PM, 25 April 2019
10:10 , Manchester , United Kingdom

Two "Heat Seekers" events are happening in Manchester on the same day:

Come help 10:10 play games with heat decarbonisation

10:10 are creating a brand new board or card game to engage people in the future of heat in the UK, and they’d love your input to help shape it.

This is an opportunity for you to meet and share your thoughts with others who have an interest in heat decarbonisation, while helping us to develop this exciting new game.

10:10 Climate Action are working with gaming experts at Manchester Metropolitan University on this UKERC-funded project to involve a wider range of people in the much needed conversation about removing carbon from our heating.

The workshop will be held in Manchester on 25th April, 12:30pm to 4pm. It’s free to attend but they have limited places available, so please register here and they will confirm your place as soon as possible.

It will be of interest to people working in heat research, policy, and innovation as well as those concerned with fuel poverty and how people will be affected by and involved in our journey to decarbonise heat.

They want to encourage a diverse mix of people at the event, particularly women, people from ethnic minorities and junior researchers. Please consider asking a relevant colleague to attend in your place if appropriate.

There are bursaries available to help people attend who would otherwise be unable to. This could cover travel, child care, or other costs. Please contact neil.jones@1010uk.org to discuss how they could help you to come along.

Join 10:10 Climate Action for an immersive evening exploring heat in our environment as we seek to create a clean heat system.

If we’re going to combat climate change we need to change the way we heat our homes, workplaces and community spaces.

So it's important we think about heat, how we use it, and where we can source it without cooking the planet.

We usually only think about heat when something is wrong - when we're too hot or too cold. Heat is hard to see, so we don't always notice when it's wasted or how it affects our daily lives.

With 10:10's thermal imaging cameras, you will complete a heat seeking treasure trail looking at areas of heat loss in the urban environment. This Heatseekers Quest is your chance to explore heat in Manchester, while meeting others working on or interested in decarbonising heat.

Venue: Northern Quarter, Manchester.

Places are limited, please register your interest at this link.
