National Hydrogen Summit

9:30 AM 27 June - 4:00 PM 28 June 2019
Energy Leeds , Leeds, United Kingdom

Energy Leeds are delighted to invite you to the National Hydrogen Summit. This inaugural two-day event is to be held in Leeds with the support of both Leeds City Council and the University of Leeds. The hydrogen economy is vital to the decarbonisation of the whole UK energy system, but the voice of gas has been underrepresented in the national debate.

The ambition is to bring together key stakeholders from across the sector to develop a cohesive voice for hydrogen, leading to a coherent policy position that can be widely supported. In addition to gas distribution networks and those directly involved with hydrogen technologies, the summit will be of particular interest to:

  • Investors and analysts
  • Engineering Consultancies
  • Academics and Policy Makers
  • Equipment manufacturers
  • Energy and transport economists
  • Industry bodies and commentators
  • Senior Transport Planners
  • Sustainability Officers
  • Economic Development Officers
  • Local Enterprise Partnerships

Holding the summit over two days allows us to address the key issues with real focus and to cover the range of hydrogen projects from across the United Kingdom. You are welcome to join them on either or both days:

Day 2 will have a focus on the policy and regulatory environment required to successfully implement projects. Energy Leeds will build on the outputs from Day 1 and look at the role for different key stakeholders including local authorities, LEPs and combined authorities. They will also explore how best to maximise economic and social benefits at both a local and national scale. There will also be a showcase of hydrogen vehicles. Key speakers include:

  • Rachel Reeves MP – Chair, House of Commons BEIS select committee
  • Ben Houchen – Mayor of Tees Valley Combined Authority
