The move to cleaner economic growth is one of the greatest industrial opportunities of our time. In 2017, a commission chaired by Sir David King set out to establish the best ways for the West Midlands to take advantage of these growing opportunities.
The panel of expert commissioners from industry, government, academia and policy have been working collaboratively to identify ways to boost regional competitiveness through the creation of an innovative regional energy market framework. To find out more about how this will be achieved please visit the Energy Capital website.
This event will mark the public launch of the commissioners report, A Regional Approach to Clean Energy Innovation. The report details the existing challenges, provide evidence-based recommendations and also outline the opportunities available.
During the event, you will also learn about the Regional Energy Strategy, a strategy that will set out how the region will rise to the Grand Challenge of achieving an effective transition to a modern, clean energy system. The Regional Energy Strategy will, support the national industrial strategy, and once again lead the way in efficient use of energy to deliver better economic and environmental outcomes for everyone.
