Webinar: Enabling Natural Resources and Well-being in Wales 2019-2023 Grant Funding
Date: 11 October 2018, 2pm

The Welsh Government has released a new funding scheme to support the implementation of the Natural Resources Policy, making clearer links between Wales' natural resources and well-being. Grants will be available for cross-sector partnerships delivering improvements in local environment quality, green infrastructure, and ecological resilience.

By the end of this webinar you will understand what the funding is about and whether it is suitable for your group to apply. This webinar is also an opportunity to ask questions about the funding and application process.

This webinar will be delivered in English but contributions and questions are welcomed in Welsh or English.

What will it fund?
The grants will cover revenue and capital costs for pilot or demonstration projects relating to at least one of the three themes of action:

  • Developing, regenerating and broadening access to sustainable green infrastructure through nature based solutions
  • Improving the quality of the urban and rural built environment
  • Developing resilient ecological networks and nature based solutions

When can groups apply and receive funding?
The current round opened on Friday 7 September 2018 and will close on Monday 3 December 2018. Funding decisions will be made over Winter 2018/19 and groups will be informed of funding decisions by February / March 2019 for projects to start in Spring 2019.

How can groups find out more information?
The scheme guidance is now available from the Welsh Government website. There is also a Yammer group for organisations to explore potential collaborations and project ideas. To join the group, email: environmentgrants@gov.wales. Guidance and links to resources on green infrastructure and using nature based solutions is available from Invest in Nature Cymru’s webpages.
