    OFGEM has opened a month-long consultation into the proposed default tariff cap. The consultation is on how it should set the price caps, how frequently to modify them, and by what criteria it should judge whether they should be lifted. The consultation is open to comments from gas and electricity suppliers, consumer groups and others. The deadline for responses is 25th June 2018.

  • Energy industry launches new coalition to tackle gender inequality

    The Energy Leaders’ Coalition was announced by Business Secretary Greg Clark on the eve of the POWERful Women’s Annual Conference. It is being led by eight CEOs from the UK Energy Sector in response to statistics that show that little progress has been made by the UK’s top 80 energy companies over the past 12 months in meeting targets to improve gender diversity.     UKRI has launched a call to form the Energy Revolution Research Consortium (ERRC), a new network of researchers and stakeholders to help to put the UK at the forefront of knowledge services for integrated energy systems. As part of the government's Industrial Strategy, UKRI is investing in a new Prospering from the Energy Revolution Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund programme.
