Research Councils Energy Programme
UKERC is funded by the Research Councils UK Energy Programme. The programme aims to position the UK to meet its energy and environmental targets and policy goals through world-class research and training. The Energy Programme is investing more than £530 million in research and skills to pioneer a low carbon future. This builds on an investment of £360 million over the past 5 years. Visit website
Energy Generation and Supply Knowledge Transfer Network
UKERC is the research delivery partner in the Technology Strategy Board’s Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) for Energy Generation and Supply, with responsibility for analysis of future and emerging opportunities. The KTN is a network of networks that aims to accelerate the innovation of technology across the energy generation and supply landscape. Visit website
European Energy Research Alliance (EERA)
UKERC is one of ten leading European research institutes have taken up the challenge to found an European Energy Research Alliance (EERA).
The key objective of the EERA is to accelerate the development of new energy technologies by conceiving and implementing Joint Research Programmes in support of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) plan by pooling and integrating activities and resources, combining national and Community sources of funding and maximising complementarities and synergies. Energy Research Partnership
The Energy Research Partnership is a high-level forum bringing together key stakeholders and funders of energy research, development, demonstration and deployment in Government, industry and academia, plus other interested bodies, to identify and work together towards shared goals. Visit website
Network of Energy Centres for Doctoral Training
There are 13 Energy Centres for Doctoral Training which provide an exciting environment for students to carry out challenging PhD-level research projects together with taught coursework. Visit website
BBSRC Sustainable Bioenergy Centre
The Centre represents a £24M investment that increases UK bioenergy research capacity. It brings together 6 world-class research groups. This creates a network with expertise and specialist resources that span the bioenergy pipeline from growing biomass to fermentation for biofuels. Visit website
