Mission of the Meeting Place
The UKERC Meeting Place is strategically placed as a central function of the UK Energy Research Centre, while being hosted and embedded within the Environmental Change Institute, a research centre within the School of Geography and the Environment at Oxford University. This dual relationship is guided by the missions of both organisations, for which the Meeting Place’s own mission and vision strives to honour.
The UKERC mission is:
To be the UK's pre-eminent centre of research, and source of authoritative information and leadership, on sustainable energy systems.
ECI mission:
To undertake research on environmental issues, teach an MSc in Environmental Change and Management, and foster university-wide networks and outreach on the environment.
Meeting Place Mission Statement
We seek to help accelerate a transformation to a global sustainable energy system and a climate stable world. The Meeting Place will achieve this by catalysing and facilitating a holistic approach to generating, synergising, sharing and applying interdisciplinary knowledge.
