European Energy Research Alliance
The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) is a collaborative network to accelerate the development of new energy technologies.
It allows participants across Europe to integrate research efforts and maximise research impact.

EERA is an alliance of leading organisations in the field of energy research. It aims to strengthen EU energy research capabilities through the sharing of facilities and pan-European research programmes.
To achieve Europe's 2050 targets and reductions in emissions, the deployment of more efficient and new energy technologies will be required.
EERA aims to accelerate the development of new energy technologies in fields such as bioenergy, ocean energy, geothermal energy, photovoltaics and other renewable technologies.
The UK is currently involved in 14 of the 15 joint programmes of research. UKERC helps facilitate this involvement with support from the Research Councils Energy Programme.
Joint programmes of work are also underway in Smart Cities, Smart Grids and Energy Storage which cut across technologies. Recently a new programme looking at Environmental, Social and Economic impacts of new energy technologies.
