UKERC Governance
UKERC reports to a Supervisory Board and is advised by an independent Advisory Board. A Research Committee manages UKERC's Research Fund and is a sub-Committee of the Advisory Board.
Supervisory Board
UKERC reports into its Supervisory Board annually.
The Board comprises representatives from the three research councils that fund the Centre: the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board provides high-level advice to the Executive and Research Directors on:
- The strategic direction of the Centre, including its interaction with Government and the Research Councils and its role respective to other UK energy initiatives
- Its collaboration, communications, and outreach strategies, including liaison with the business sector and policymakers
- Its networking and co-ordination activities nationally and internationally
- The Centre's research programme

Research Committee
A new Research Committee was formed in 2009 and oversees Calls for Proposals under the new UKERC Research Fund; in UKERC Phase II (2009 – 2014), about 40% of research resources is channelled through the fund.
